When moving, many people pull all of their clothes out of dressers and place them into boxes. Instead, use your dresser drawers as storage containers for moving your clothes. This easy moving hack will save space in the moving truck.
Rather than packing your clothes in your dresser and making it too heavy, saran wrap the drawers closed and use a dolly to help you haul them onto the truck. You will save time on packing and unpacking clothes, and money on boxes.
3. Tape Nuts, Bolts, and Screws to Furniture
Few things are as frustrating as getting to your new home and discovering that you’ve lost the hardware to put your furniture back together. One of the smartest easy moving hacks is to place all the nuts and bolts of each piece of furniture in a zip lock bag and tape it to the furniture.
Don’t use duct tape when taping the plastic bag to the furniture. Duct tape will remove stain from wood furniture and leave residue on metal surfaces. Instead, use electrical tape. Electrical tape will secure the bag to any surface tightly without causing damage when it’s removed.
4. Tape an “X” On Glass and Mirrors From Corner to Corner
It is frustrating to have glass break on you during a move, and it’s an even bigger hassle to have that glass shatter and then spread throughout the moving truck. To avoid glass from shattering and making a mess, use masking tape to tape the glass from corner-to-corner in an “X”. This will keep the glass intact during your move.
